Pulsar Team Wins Award in Competition for the Samobor Health Center

The Pulsar team has won an award in the public architectural and urban planning competition for the reconstruction and extension of the Zagreb County Health Center – Samobor branch. The goal of the competition was to identify a contemporary and functional solution that would provide spatial expansion and modernization of the medical facility, while respecting the architectural identity of the original complex designed by architect Mladen Vodička, one of the notable figures of Croatian modernism in the 20th century.

The Pulsar team’s proposal was recognized for its balanced relationship between the new extension and the existing structures, its thoughtful consideration of the urban context, and it’s clear and functional spatial organization. The project reinterprets the modernist values of the complex through a contemporary architectural expression, creating harmony between tradition and the needs of the present day.

Team members who contributed to the project include: Alan Leo Pleština, Iva Smolić Pandža, Filip Ivaniček, Antonio Hren, Petra Novosel Golobić, Vito Grego, Fran Matijević, Ante Mucić, and Marin Ponjević. Their collaborative approach resulted in a solution that combines rationality, humanity, and architectural elegance.

This award affirms the Pulsar team’s commitment to creating spaces that enrich the urban context and enhance the community’s quality of life.
